They are off. La left this afternoon for a "boys" weekend in N.C. to help a friend do some maintenance on her family cabin. I'd be happy to have a few days to myself, but I caught a cold yesterday and feel like sh*t. I can't even go to circuit training tonight, which I love. A group of friends get together twice a week at the church and do a 60 min circuit workout to our favorite dance music with lots of ABBA thrown in there. We have so much fun! But not tonight. I am waiting for my drugs to kick in to knock me out. I feel it coming...
I sent La off with a snack bag full of her favorites- pistachio nuts, trail mix, the new hot wing and blue cheese D*ritos, apple slices and PB... AND a picture of three of the wives in a frame for the dashboard. Just so they wouldn't miss us :-) Drugs are kicking in.. going to sleep.

Here's to you, Jo. Love you!
My friend JoAnne came over yesterday morning to have her hair done. Since her hair came back this last time she has been wanting it died pink and for this month, October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month, She wants to wear the ribbon shaved in the back as a statement. She is fighting breast cancer that re-reared it's ugly head in the form of metastatic breast cancer in her spine. She was diagnosed and treated 10+ years ago for her breast and now this. She's a fighter! She will quickly tell you there is no cure for her only treatment and she goes each week for her chemo and shows up to work the next day with a smile on her face. Sometimes I see her stopped in the hall, holding her back, I know she hurts- but her response is "hey what you want me to do, lay in bed and wait to die, no way!" And so my friend, here's to you and all the brave women that fight this ugly disease everyday.
While there's life, there's hope!
